Let’s continue on..
What to expect this Bible Study?
We will continue to increase in our intro Hebrew vocabulary, with an intro to Hebrew terminology, coupled with A version of The Tanakh (the actual …. Jewish Bible.. that means no “new testament”) introduction, and always rooted in Torah Spiritual Teaching.
The books, sources, and resources or references I will do my best to make sure are hyperlinked for others to review and study at their own leisure and for gaining in self-learning/teaching.
My goal is to help and assist others by studying, researching, applying in life, then learning and sharing/teaching what I have learned or experienced. This rounds out my personal experiences in any moment or season of life, thus forming a reality.
This reality is a living, yes living, energy frequency.
Physical And Spiritual
Able to raise higher and higher (G-d willing) and be adjusted as more experiences and new learning take place. These are my attempts at improving myself and hoping to leave the part of the world I have been placed, in better state than before (if needed) and the people I encounter (if possible). People and or places, I am so very blessed to encounter, G-d willing, will have a positive (frequency strong hold/ pillar of success for G-d’s Glory) experience of their own that will ultimately lead them to… you guessed it… G-d and His Holy Torah.
This Is Not Forced Or Coerced, Nor Manipulated.
With full acceptance of my own and others free will, (given to us by the Holy Creator), therefore at the end of the day one’s own education is determined by their efforts, intentions, and perseverance of truth.
Everyone has a responsibility to their own life, experiences, learning, and education (to name a few), in seeking and finding truth forming their reality.
TRUTH
I believe all truth comes from G-d and was given to us in His Holy Torah, and then lived out in the Tanakh.
In order to understand, realize, and learn the truth, we should attempt, to the highest degree possible, to learn terminology, and then share this beauty with others who are open.
So What Is Terminology?
Terminology, as defined by Wikipedia, is:
Terminology is a group of specialized words and respective meanings in a particular field, and also the study of such terms and their use; the latter meaning is also known as terminology science.A term is a word, compound word, or multi-word expressions that in specific contexts is given specific meanings—these may deviate from the meanings the same words have in other contexts and in everyday language.
Terminology is a discipline that studies, among other things, the development of such terms and their interrelationships within a specialized domain.
Terminology differs from lexicography, as it involves the study of concepts, conceptual systems and their labels (terms), whereas lexicography studies words and their meanings.
Terminology is a discipline that systematically studies the “labelling or designating of concepts” particular to one or more subject fields or domains of human activity. It does this through the research and analysis of terms in context for the purpose of documenting and promoting consistent usage.
Terminology can be limited to one or more languages (for example, “multilingual terminology” and “bilingual terminology”), or may have an interdisciplinarity focus on the use of terms in different fields.
Let’s get into…..
This week’s Hebrew and Jewish terminology words are: Listen shmiah and selah: lift up and hear
I used 3 books to aide me in my research this lesson:
I truly enjoyed studying and researching this week’s Jewish Terminology Word.
What lead me to research specifically this word?
I am glad you asked….
This week we will be studying Tehillim 49 with the Hebrew and Jewish Terminology Words of the Week not to be hypocrites to Goodness of G-d, hypocritical of one’s G-dly ways, or to live in hypocrisy others and oneself.
For now we will put a paper clip here, but please keep this in mind not only for the live or uploaded lesson just the same later in this Blog.

credit to my study source:
Anyhow, another book I use from my home library, Tehillim Books of Psalms which has commentary from Talmud, Midrash, Kabbalah, classic commentators, and Chasidic Masters; has the commentary paragraph by page 92a paragraph commentary p49:1 and it clarifies:
“A Psalm (or “song”) by the sons of Korach. It would seem that this psalm should be called a “lamentation”; why is it called a “song”? The answer is that it is be the sons of Korach. Unlike their father (who rebelled against Moses in the desert and died as a result), the sons of Korach repented at the last moment and were saved. While the message of the psalm is sobering, one who takes it to heart is moved to repentance, which leads ultimately to joy (Alishich)
I asked myself…….
- How does one listen Listen – shmiah and Selah- lift up and hear with their spirit (ruach)?
- Answer : Torah
- Am I able to command my soul (nef fesh) to hear and obey my Creator?
- Answer: Yes.
- How? By doing ones best to learn and relearn and grow in following the Torah.
- Answer: Yes.
- How does one go about truly removing the evil inclination from ones self?
- Answer: You guessed it…… Reading the Torah and living the Torah to the best of ones ability and learning every day and every season of one life, in all aspects of ones life.
You know my dear friends and family something that just hit me the right way regarding this meditation on the Psalms 49 time…..
Which lead to look up the below books, chapters, and verses. I want to very much tho share these with all my dear friends and family.
The answer is: of course!
Sooooo here it goes!
Fair warning this is a lengthy one……
Numbers 17
Chapter 16 Numbers
Korach
Now Qoraĥ, the son of Yiżhar, the son of Qehat, the son of Levi, and Datan and Aviram, the sons of Eli᾽av, and On, the son of Pelet, of the sons of Re᾽uven, took men:
and they rose up before Moshe, with certain of the children of Yisra᾽el, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, regularly summoned to the congregation, men of renown:
and they gathered themselves together against Moshe and against Aharon, and said to them, You take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: why then do you raise yourselves up above the congregation of the Lord?
And when Moshe heard it, he fell on his face:
and he spoke to Qoraĥ and to all his company, saying, Tomorrow morning the Lord will show who is his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near to him: even him whom he has chosen will he cause to come near to him.
This do; Take censers, Qoraĥ, and all his company;
and put fire in them, and put incense in them before the Lord tomorrow: and it shall be that the man whom the Lord chooses, he shall be holy: you take too much upon you, you sons of Levi.
And Moshe said to Qoraĥ, Hear, I pray you, sons of Levi:
is it but a small thing to you, that the God of Yisra᾽el has separated you from the congregation of Yisra᾽el, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them?
And he has brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and do you seek the priesthood also?
For which cause both thou and all thy company who are gathered together are against the Lord: and what is Aharon, that you murmur against him?
And Moshe sent to call Datan and Aviram, the sons of Eli᾽av; but they said, We will not come up:
is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, and dost thou also make thyself a prince over us?
Moreover thou hast not brought us to a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.
And Moshe was much angered, and said to the Lord, Have no regard to their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, nor have I hurt one of them.
And Moshe said to Qoraĥ, Be thou and all thy company before the Lord, thou, and they, and Aharon, tomorrow:
and take every man his censer, and put incense in them, and present before the Lord every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aharon, each of you his censer.
And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense on them, and stood in the door of the Tent of Meeting with Moshe and Aharon.
And Qoraĥ gathered all the congregation against them to the door of the Tent of Meeting: and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the congregation.
And the Lord spoke to Moshe and to Aharon, saying,
Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be angry with all the congregation?
And the Lord spoke to Moshe, saying,
Speak to the congregation, saying, Get up from about the dwelling of Qoraĥ, Datan, and Aviram.
And Moshe rose up and went to Datan and Aviram; and the elders of Yisra᾽el followed him.
And he spoke to the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins.
So they went up from the dwelling of Qoraĥ, Datan, and Aviram, on every side: and Datan and Aviram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
And Moshe said, Hereby you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of my own mind.
If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the Lord has not sent me.
But if the Lord creates a new thing, and the earth opens her mouth, and swallows them up, with all that appertain to them, and they go down alive into She᾽ol; then you shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord.
And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground split beneath them:
and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained to Qoraĥ, and all their goods.
They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into She᾽ol, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
And all Yisra᾽el that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.
And there came out a fire from the Lord, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered the incense.
chapter 17 Numbers
And the Lord spoke to Moshe saying,
Speak to El῾azar the son of Aharon the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they have become holy.
As for the censers of these sinners against their own lives, let them make them into beaten plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the Lord, therefore they have become holy: and they shall be a sign to the children of Yisra᾽el.
And El῾azar the priest took the brazen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they made them into beaten plates for a covering of the altar:
to be a memorial to the children of Yisra᾽el, that no stranger, who is not of the seed of Aharon, come near to offer incense before the Lord: that he be not like Qoraĥ and his company: as the Lord said to him by the hand of Moshe.
But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Yisra᾽el murmured against Moshe and against Aharon, saying, You have killed the people of the Lord.
And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moshe and against Aharon, that they looked toward the Tent of Meeting: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
And Moshe and Aharon came before the Tent of Meeting.
And the Lord spoke to Moshe, saying,
Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
And Moshe said to Aharon. Take a censer, and put fire in it from off the altar, and put on incense, and take it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them: for wrath is gone out from the Lord; the plague has begun.
And Aharon took as Moshe commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague had begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made atonement for the people.
And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand, seven hundred, besides those who died about the matter of Qoraĥ.
And Aharon returned to Moshe to the door of the Tent of Meeting: and the plague was stayed.
And the Lord spoke to Moshe, saying,
Speak to the children of Yisra᾽el, and take of every one of them a rod, one for each father’s house, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers: twelve rods: write every man’s name upon his rod.
And thou shalt write Aharon’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.
And thou shalt lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the Testimony, where I will meet with you.
And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Yisra᾽el, whereby they murmur against you.
And Moshe spoke to the children of Yisra᾽el, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses: twelve rods: and the rod of Aharon was among their rods.
And Moshe laid up the rods before the Lord in the tent of the Testimony.
And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moshe went into the tent of the Testimony: and, behold, the rod of Aharon for the house of Levi had sprouted, and brought forth buds, and blossomed, and yielded almonds.
And Moshe brought out all the rods from before the Lord to all the children of Yisra᾽el: and they looked, and took every man his rod.
And the Lord said to Moshe, Put Aharon’s rod back before the Testimony, to be kept for a token against rebels; that there may be an end of their murmurings against me, that they die not.
And Moshe did so: as the Lord commanded him, so he did.
And the children of Yisra᾽el spoke to Moshe, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish.
Everyone that comes at all near the tabernacle of the Lord dies; shall we totally perish?
The family member (Korach) gathered others just as wicked as him.
This bring us back to last weeks Hebrew and Jewish Word of the Week: hypocrite

A Hypocrite Tsa voo’a is someone so numb to one’s wicked ways, that person does not care to seek to improve oneself. In fact, the hypocrite often encourages others who are just if not more wicked than oneself to engage in multiple hypocrisies tsvee’oot, sowing division, hate, and toxic environment. The hypocrite thrives in imposing hypocrisy in almost a gang or corrupt war-like manner, always aiming to target the righteous.
The hypocritical tsva’ot, nature of a person(s) is a demonic or negatively filled existence, which not only affects them, but the locations or establishments they frequent or have a strong hold over. The hypocrite tsa voo’a, aims to control as a tyrant, through oppression. This may be settled, this may be aggressive, but it is always causing destruction. They have no true sense or realization of themselves; therefore, they have no true love for friends, family, or associates. The hypocrite tsa voo’a, is only after what will gain for themselves.
Instead of Korach and His followers taking time throughout the journey in the wilderness: Listen – shmiah and Selah- lift up and hear from a far away place(your body in the physical) with your spirit (ruach) and hear was is being explained in your soul (nef esh/ashot)…. Korach feed the animalistic beast within him, and willingly choose to rebel against Moses.
How can we related the Hebrew and Jewish terminology word of the Week?

Moses, our Teacher of Blessed memory was giving as directed by Hashem the Blessed Holy One, the great teachings of the Holy Torah:

Due to Korach aiming to remain in a lower spiritual earth existence and gave into a violation of a commandment:
Exodus ch 20: 14 “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour’s.”
We also read in Deuteronomy ch’s 10 and 11 the following:
Deuteronomy chapter 10 and 11 read a charge to the Nation of Israel:
10:12 And now, Israel, what does God want of you? Only that you remain in awe of God your Lord, so that you will follow all His paths and love Him, serving God your Lord with all your heart and with all your soul.
10:13 You must keep God’s commandments and decrees that I am prescribing for you today, so that good will be yours.
10:14 The heaven, the heaven of heaven, the earth and everything in it, all belong to God!
10:15 Still, it was only with your ancestors that God developed a closeness. He loved them and therefore chose you, their descendants, from among all nations, just as the situation is today.
10:16 Remove the barriers from your heart and do not remain so stubborn any more!
10:17 God your Lord is the ultimate Supreme Being and the highest possible Authority. He is the great, mighty and awesome God, who does not give special consideration or take bribes.
10:18 He brings justice to the orphan and widow, and loves the foreigner, granting him food and clothing.
10:19 You must also show love toward the foreigner, since you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
That is why Levi has received no hereditary portion along with its kin: יהוה is its portion, as your God יהוה spoke concerning it.
I had stayed on the mountain, as I did the first time, forty days and forty nights; and יהוה heeded me once again: יהוה agreed not to destroy you.
And יהוה said to me, “Up, resume the march at the head of the people, that they may go in and possess the land that I swore to their fathers to give them.”
And now, O Israel, what does your God יהוה demand of you? Only this: to revere your God יהוה, to walk only in divine paths, to love and to serve your God יהוה with all your heart and soul,
keeping יהוה’s commandments and laws, which I enjoin upon you today, for your good.
Mark, the heavens to their uttermost reaches belong to your God יהוה, the earth and all that is on it!
Yet it was to your ancestors that יהוה was drawn out of love for them, so that you, their lineal descendants, were chosen from among all peoples—as is now the case.
Cut away, therefore, the thickening about your hearts and stiffen your necks no more.
For your God יהוה is God supreme and Lord supreme, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who shows no favor and takes no bribe,
but upholds the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and befriends the stranger, providing food and clothing.—
You too must befriend the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
You must revere יהוה: only your God shall you worship, to [God] shall you hold fast, and by God’s name shall you swear.
[ יהוה ] is your glory and your God, who wrought for you those marvelous, awesome deeds that you saw with your own eyes.
Your ancestors went down to Egypt seventy persons; and now your God יהוה has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.
Chapter 11
Love, therefore, your God יהוה, and always keep God’s charge, God’s laws, God’s rules, and God’s commandments.
Take thought this day that it was not your children, who neither experienced nor witnessed the lesson of your God יהוה —God’s majesty, mighty hand, and outstretched arm;
the signs and the deeds that [God] performed in Egypt against Pharaoh king of Egypt and all his land;
what [God] did to Egypt’s army, its horses and chariots; how יהוה rolled back upon them the waters of the Sea of Reeds when they were pursuing you, thus destroying them once and for all;
what [God] did for you in the wilderness before you arrived in this place;
and what [God] did to Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab son of Reuben, when the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them, along with their households, their tents, and every living thing in their train, from amidst all Israel—
but that it was you who saw with your own eyes all the marvelous deeds that יהוה performed.
Keep, therefore, all the Instruction that I enjoin upon you today, so that you may have the strength to enter and take possession of the land that you are about to cross into and possess,
and that you may long endure upon the soil that יהוה swore to your fathers to assign to them and to their heirs, a land flowing with milk and honey.
For the land that you are about to enter and possess is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come. There the grain you sowed had to be watered by your own labors, like a vegetable garden;
but the land you are about to cross into and possess, a land of hills and valleys, soaks up its water from the rains of heaven.
It is a land which your God יהוה looks after, on which your God יהוה always keeps an eye, from year’s beginning to year’s end.
If, then, you obey the commandments that I enjoin upon you this day, loving your God יהוה and serving [God] with all your heart and soul,
I will grant the rain for your land in season, the early rain and the late. You shall gather in your new grain and wine and oil—
I will also provide grass in the fields for your cattle—and thus you shall eat your fill.
Take care not to be lured away to serve other gods and bow to them.
For יהוה’s anger will flare up against you, shutting up the skies so that there will be no rain and the ground will not yield its produce; and you will soon perish from the good land that יהוה is assigning to you.
Therefore impress these My words upon your very heart: bind them as a sign on your hand and let them serve as a symbol on your forehead,
and teach them to your children—reciting them when you stay at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you get up;
and inscribe them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates—
to the end that you and your children may endure, in the land that יהוה swore to your fathers to assign to them, as long as there is a heaven over the earth.
If, then, you faithfully keep all this Instruction that I command you, loving your God יהוה, walking in all God’s ways, and holding fast to [God],
יהוה will dislodge before you all these nations: you will dispossess nations greater and more numerous than you.
Every spot on which your foot treads shall be yours; your territory shall extend from the wilderness to the Lebanon and from the River—the Euphrates—to the Western Sea.
No one shall stand up to you: your God יהוה will put the dread and the fear of you over the whole land in which you set foot, as promised.
Re’eh
See, this day I set before you blessing and curse:
blessing, if you obey the commandments of your God יהוה that I enjoin upon you this day;
and curse, if you do not obey the commandments of your God יהוה, but turn away from the path that I enjoin upon you this day and follow other gods, whom you have not experienced.
Not listening to HaShem, The Blessed Holy One for there is no other, is a form of idol worship. Putting ones selfish desire before the word or commandments of G-d.
I encourage all of us, obviously myself included to try and learn to Listen – shmiah with ones spiritual connection to G-d. If in any case ones feels confused or lost, one can look to The Torah or Tanakh and find examples or answers that G-d is leading.
And after sometime, G’W one will develop to the Selah- lifting up of ones physical existence into the spiritual relationship through The Torah and develop the ability hear from a far away place(your body in the physical) with your spirit (ruach) that HaShem gave us for living soul.
Omayn and Omayn.
