Let’s continue on..

What to expect this Bible Study?

We will continue to increase in our intro Hebrew vocabulary, intro Hebrew terminology, Tanakh (the actual …. Jewish Bible.. that means no “new testament”) introduction, and Torah Spiritual Teaching.

The books, sources, and resources or references I will do my best to make sure are hyperlinked for others to review and study at their own leisure and for gaining in self-learning/teaching.

My goal is to help and assist others by studying, researching, applying in life, then learning and sharing/teaching what I have learned or experienced. This rounds out my personal experiences in any moment or season of life, thus forming a reality.

This reality is a living, yes living, energy frequency.

Physical And Spiritual

Able to raise higher and higher (G-d willing) and be adjusted as more experiences and new learning take place. These are my attempts at improving myself and hoping to leave the part of the world I have been placed, in better state than before (if needed) and the people I encounter (if possible). People and or places, I am so very blessed to encounter, G-d willing, will have a positive (frequency strong hold/ pillar of success for G-d’s Glory) experience of their own that will ultimately lead them to… you guessed it… G-d and His Holy Torah.

This Is Not Forced Or Coerced, Nor Manipulated.

With full acceptance of my own and others free will, (given to us by the Holy Creator), therefore at the end of the day one’s own education is determined by their efforts, intentions, and perseverance of truth.

Everyone has a responsibility to their own life, experiences, learning, and education (to name a few), in seeking and finding truth forming their reality.

TRUTH

I believe all truth comes from G-d and was given to us in His Holy Torah, and then lived out in the Tanakh.

In order to understand, realize, and learn the truth, we should attempt, to the highest degree possible, to learn terminology, and then share this beauty with others who are open.

So What Is Terminology?

Terminology, as defined by Wikipedia, is:

Terminology is a group of specialized words and respective meanings in a particular field, and also the study of such terms and their use; the latter meaning is also known as terminology science.A term is a word, compound word, or multi-word expressions that in specific contexts is given specific meanings—these may deviate from the meanings the same words have in other contexts and in everyday language.

 Terminology is a discipline that studies, among other things, the development of such terms and their interrelationships within a specialized domain.

Terminology differs from lexicography, as it involves the study of concepts, conceptual systems and their labels (terms), whereas lexicography studies words and their meanings.

Terminology is a discipline that systematically studies the “labelling or designating of concepts” particular to one or more subject fields or domains of human activity. It does this through the research and analysis of terms in context for the purpose of documenting and promoting consistent usage.

Terminology can be limited to one or more languages (for example, “multilingual terminology” and “bilingual terminology”), or may have an interdisciplinarity focus on the use of terms in different fields.

Let’s get into…..

This week’s Jewish terminology words are:

Praise(s)

shvakheem

recount

(sfeer-ah ot khoz eret)

I used 3 books to aide me in my research this lesson:

I truly enjoyed studying and researching this week’s Jewish Terminology Word.

What lead me to research specifically this word?

I am glad you asked….

This weeks Hebrew and Jewish Terminology Word of the week actually came from my study of Tehillim 106. The opening of the Psalm is…. “Praise G-d!

Anyhow, another book I use from my home library, Tehillim Books of Psalms which has commentary from Talmud, Midrash, Kabbalah, classic commentators, and Chasidic Masters; has the commentary paragraph by The Rebbe on page 211b and it reads:

“This psalm discusses the mighty acts of G-d and how He cares for the Jewish people throughout history. The Psalmist therefore uses the uncommon verb recount to convey the important of the storytelling in education We ought to recount to our children, in narrative form, the kindness of G-d. By relaying G-d’s kindness though narrative, we pique the children’s interest and evoke in them a desire to learn more about their heritage.”

(The Rebbe)

The words shvakheem (praise(s)) and recount (sfeer-ah ot khoz eret) had me thinking and asking some questions.

I asked myself…….

  • How can I  shvakheem (praise(s)) and recount (sfeer-ah ot khoz eret) had me thinking and asking some questions.(praise(s)) and recount G-d’s good ness in my life?
  • How can I successfully shvakeem  (praise(s)) and recount (sfeer-ah ot khoz eret) to my children and others the Glory of HaShem?
  • When one recounts (sfeer-ah ot khoz eret) the goodness of G-d, are they also shvakeem praising G-d?

You know my dear friends and family something that just hit me the right way regarding this meditation on the Psalms time….. shvakheem (praise(s)) and recount (sfeer-ah ot khoz eret)! Which lead to look up the below books, chapters, and verses. I want to very much tho share these with all my dear friends and family.

Sooooo here it goes!

I asked myself are there Bible verses that speak of one or how one goes about preforming or uttering or acting out the shvakheem (praise(s)) and recount (sfeer-ah ot khoz eret) of G-d’s goodness?

The answer is: of course!

  • Exodus 15:1 Then Moshe and the B’nei Yisrael sang this song to [exalted this praise before] Adonoy and they said, I [We] will sing to [praise and we will give thanks before] Adonoy for He is most high [exalted Himself above those who are exalted, and exaltation is His], horse and its rider He threw into the sea.
  • Deuteronomy 31:19 And now write for yourselves this song [ praise ] and teach it to Bnei Yisroel to place it in their mouths; in order that this song [ praise ] will be for [ before ] Me a witness against Bnei Yisroel.
  • Leviticus 19:24 On the fourth year, all of its fruit shall be holy [upon which to say] praise[s to] Adonoy.
  • Judges 5:2 In time of tumultuous strife in Yisra᾽el when the people willingly offered themselves; praise the Lord.
  • Nehemiah 8:6 And Ezra blessed the L-rd, the great G d, and all the people answered Amen! Amen! with hands uplifted [in praise of the L-rd]. And they bowed down and prostrated themselves to the L-rd with their faces to the ground.

Last but not least my favorite chapter I found comes from 1 Chronicles ch 16, and it reads

So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had set up for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.

And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.

And he distributed to every one of Yisra᾽el both men and women, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of meat, and a cake of raisins.

And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, and to invoke and to thank and praise the Lord God of Yisra᾽el.

Asaf the chief, and next to him Zekharya, Ye῾i᾽el, and Shemiramot, and Yeĥi᾽el, and Mattitya, and Eli᾽av, and Benayahu, and ῾Oved-edom: and Ye῾i᾽el with lutes and with lyres; but Asaf was to sound the cymbals;

and Benayahu and Yaĥazi᾽el the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.

Then on that day David first delivered this psalm (to thank the Lord) into the hand of Asaf and his brethren.

Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples.

Sing to him, sing psalms to him, talk of all his wondrous works.

Glory in his holy name: let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.

Remember his marvellous works that he has done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

O seed of Yisra᾽el his servant, you children of Ya῾aqov, his chosen ones.

He is the Lord our God; his judgments are on all the earth.

Be mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;

which he made with Avraham, and of his oath to Yiżĥaq;

and he confirmed the same to Ya῾aqov for a law, and to Yisra᾽el for an everlasting covenant,

saying, To thee will I give the land of Kena῾an, the lot of your inheritance;

when you were but a few men in number, of little account and sojourners there:

when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;

he suffered no man to do them wrong: but he reproved kings for their sakes, saying,

Do not touch any anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

Sing to the Lord, all the earth; announce his salvation from day to day.

Declare his glory among the nations; his marvellous works among all peoples.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: and he is to be feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the peoples are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.

Honour and majesty are before him; strength and gladness are in his place.

Ascribe to the Lord, you families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Tremble before him, all the earth: the world also is established, so that it shall not be moved.

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let it be said among the nations, The Lord reigns.

Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.

Then shall the trees of the wood sing for joy at the presence of the Lord, because he comes to judge the earth.

O give thanks to the Lord; for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever.

And say, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to Thy holy name, and glory in Thy praise.

Blessed be the Lord God of Yisra᾽el for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the Lord.

So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord Asaf and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required:

and ῾Oved-edom with their brethren, sixty eight; and ῾Oved-edom the son of Yeditun and Ḥosa to be doorkeepers:

and Żadoq the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place that was at Giv῾on,

to offer burnt offerings to the Lord upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the Tora of the Lord, which he commanded Yisra᾽el;

And with them Heman and Yedutun, and the rest who were chosen, who were expressly named, to give thanks to the Lord, because his steadfast love endures forever;

and with them Heman and Yedutun with trumpets and cymbals for making a loud sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Yedutun were posted at the gate.

And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.

How can we related the Hebrew and Jewish terminology word of the Week:

  • Exodus 15:1 Then Moshe and the B’nei Yisrael sang this song to [exalted this praise before] Adonoy and they said, I [We] will sing to [praise and we will give thanks before] Adonoy for He is most high [exalted Himself above those who are exalted, and exaltation is His], horse and its rider He threw into the sea.
    • In this chapter Moses lead the Nation of Israel in a sound praising G-d for giving the salvation and freeing them and bring judgement to an oppressive evil government and the evil people. who supported their oppressor, but also those who were of their own national bloodline who had no heart to serve G-d, and were willingly supporting the evil government and the co-horts.
  • Deuteronomy 31:19 And now write for yourselves this song [ praise ] and teach it to Bnei Yisroel to place it in their mouths; in order that this song [ praise ] will be for [ before ] Me a witness against Bnei Yisroel.
    • In the verse Moses is instructing the Nation o f Israel to write down their own personal praise song as a witness that He properly and repeatedly by the command from The Holy Blessed One, the Blessings and Curses that would be fall all who forsake G-d and His commandments.
  • Leviticus 19:24 On the fourth year, all of its fruit shall be holy [upon which to say] praise[s to] Adonoy.
    • In this verse Moses, is giving the commandment spoken from G-d, the we are to Bless and Praise HaShem for provided our fruits, but also Praise G-d, for allowing us the ability to purchase the items to preform or conduct work or labor, but also the very ability to be healthy enough and strongly capable and wisdom field in successfully for filling His commands. This verse and instruction is highly spiritual and prophetic.
  • Judges 5:2 In time of tumultuous strife in Yisra᾽el when the people willingly offered themselves; praise the Lord.
    • In this verse Devora, The Prophet and Judge and Baraq, The Army Leader, both sang in unison how we shall sing to G-d, and Praise G-d, for the victories in ones life, but also the troubles that may come upon us deservingly due to rebellion against Almighty G-d.
  • Nehemiah 8:6 And Ezra blessed the L-rd, the great G d, and all the people answered Amen! Amen! with hands uplifted [in praise of the L-rd]. And they bowed down and prostrated themselves to the L-rd with their faces to the ground.
    • In this chapter Ezra the scribe of the Torah and the Prophet, read all the Torah to everyone with in the community. Not only did they hear, but they understood the full meanings of the words of the Torah. And with this Messianic Age (Hebrew: יְמוֹת הַמָּשִׁיחַ) understanding the People, all people Praise in agreement and wisdom Amen and Amen.

I believe the Jewish and Hebrew terminology of the words:

shvakheem

(praise(s)) and

recount

(sfeer-ah ot khoz eret)

of G-d’s goodness…

are vital parts of our society that are missing today. And because or due to attempting to appease those who do not know G-d and His Glorious ways, we have done a great evil. I know it’s sad… we have failed in so many ways to pass on the shvakheem and sfeer-ah ot khoz eret of G-d’s works throughout our lifetime and the lifetimes of our ancestors. Because of this, it is not a great wonder to me why or how so many children or others are lost and confused regarding who G-d is and what He does, or even which god they should serve.

So many don't know who they are or even what they are; and in not knowing they are clinging to those wicked ones who are aiming to deceive them and take them off course and lead them into tragedy. Those wicked ones who unfortunately are very active in promoting the very things The True living G-d hates.

So my dear friends and family how can this be changed?

We can learn not to do as the other generations have done.

We can study Torah and due good with G-d, here and now and toady!

We can be strong and not fear or care who is wagging their disbelieving tongue. We can be strong soldiers of HaShem!

We can, just like in the times of Ezra, read and study Torah, find programs online, learn, and then live lives that are Torah-filled and compatible.

That’s, actually what Ezra did.

Ezra’s Early Life

Very little is known about the early life of Ezra the Scribe. He was born in Babylon to a priestly family, and dedicated himself to the study of the Torah. By trade he was a scribe, writing books of the Torah and Prophets. He lived in Babylon for the first decades of his life, studying under Baruch ben Neriah.

Throughout the time period of the Babylonian exile, the Jews waited impatiently for the day that Babylonian or Persian2 kings would allow them to return to their land and rebuild the Temple. When Cyrus was appointed king, their efforts were finally rewarded.

Not everyone was willing to return to Israel

Cyrus ordered that they be allowed to return to Israel and rebuild the Temple. He even promised to provide supplies for the project.3

Ecstatic, a large contingent of 42,360 people4 marched back to Israel, determined to rebuild the Temple and restore it to its former glory. They immediately laid the foundations, accompanied by the Levite orchestra and the cries of joy of the onlookers.5

The exhilaration was short-lived. The other inhabitants of the land, feeling threatened by the sudden mass immigration, opposed the project. They bribed officials to order a stop to the building, delaying the construction until the reign of Cyrus had ended. The next Persian king, Ahasuerus, was less amicable toward his Jewish subjects. Taking advantage of this, the inhabitants of Israel sent letters telling Ahasuerus that the Jews were planning a rebellion and spreading sedition. After reading those letters, the king halted the project

Ezra himself had not gone with the first group of returnees to Israel. He stayed in Babylon throughout this period, either to continue his studies or in order to avoid any power struggles with Jeshua ben Jehozadak over the position of high priest.

Once the first group had left, Ezra gained prominence in the Jewish community in Babylon. He began the process of identifying lineages, researching genealogies and forming detailed family lists. By the time he left Babylon, Ezra had clarified the ancestry of every family living there, identifying tribal lineages and illegitimate children.

Soon after Ezra arrived in Jerusalem, he learned of the spiritual state of the Jews there. They had intermarried freely with the non-Jewish women of the land, and had ceased to keep the Jewish holidays and other commandments. Devastated, Ezra tore his clothes and sat in mourning the entire day until evening. After the evening sacrifice was brought, he got up and began praying loudly to G‑d, weeping for forgiveness for the sins of his people.19

A crowd slowly gathered to watch his heartfelt pleas. His tears moved them as well, and eventually the entire group cried along with him, lamenting their sins.20 Then Shechaniah the son of Jehiel stepped forward with a proposition. Speaking as a representative of the people, he asked that Ezra take a leadership role in helping the people leave their non-Jewish wives and return to the service of G‑d.

Ezra persistence pays off

Although Ezra was a strong spiritual leader and experienced marked success in influencing the populace to strengthen their connection to G‑d, his sincere devotion did not lead to an improved economic and military state. Over the next 12 years the situation worsened. The walls of Jerusalem were crumbling, and enemies routinely looted the area. A sense of resignation pervaded the people. They accepted the status quo, unwilling to work to change it.

Then a Jewish government official arrived from Babylon, named Nehemiah. He had heard of the dire situation and was on a mission to fix it. He inspired the people to rebuild the walls and defend themselves. Soon Nehemiah was appointed governor over the area, administering to the Jewish people’s physical needs as Ezra tended to their spiritual wellbeing.

In closing, learning to become an Ezra (of sorts) in this “Babylon”, will most likely be quite difficult and one will surely face resistance. I would like to wonder, what if Israel had 5 Ezras, or 10, or 20, or God willing 1000; would it be as difficult?

I think maybe not.

So let us…..

shvakheem

(praise(s)) and

recount

(sfeer-ah ot khoz eret)

of G-d’s goodness…

Omayn and Omayn.
