Tehillim Psalms 16

Welcome Back To #Season6 Of…..

Marie Speaks G-D’s Grace Bible Study.

Now I have posted videos reading the Psalms on our Youtube and Rumble and IG social media pages, but this seasons goal will be something more in depth, more G’W terminology filled, and G’W applicable to one’s life.

So as we…..

Along with the terminology of Tehillim 16 we will also be growing in our Hebrew and Jewish terminology Word of the Week….. Advice

etzah: gave or advice or counseled

chavat: a hard hitting fact, or constitution law, strict ruling

daat: the sharing of knowledge, shared wisdom leaving room for self interpretation and or conclusion

Hodaah(ot): an admission, confession; notification, notice, announcement

tushiyah: offering advice in general polite manner, politically pleasing advice

As we learned and will continue to learn what is considered advice and the many types of advice exist, mainly from G-d’ Almighty and with secondly from man in the study of the Hebrew and Jewish terminology word of the Week, we will be more equipped to understand, relearn, and gain wisdom in the terminology of Tehillim 16.

There is no doubt in my mind after each weeks of combine lessons and Blogs, we will be equipped and passionate about truly living a Torah and Tanakh filled life each and every season of our life and therefore, enriching the lives of those we love and come into any form of contact with throughout this lifetime.

Today’s Lesson

This lesson, we will learn the terminology of Tehillim/Psalms 16 and expand on that terminology in the video lesson that will be uploaded or broadcast live.

The BLOGs are written to assist those just beginning to study the Tehillim / Psalms as a starting point. The Live or recorded Bible Studies are to cover and release opportunities and guidance, but ultimately it is one’s own personal responsibility to rule, govern, and be purposeful in their relationship with G-D. Both the BLOGs and video lessons are meant to be coupled in order to joyfully complete a well-rounded and complete learning opportunity baseline.

This is only the beginning and a possibility of growth.

Before reciting the Psalms

Blessings Before Reciting Tehillim / Psalms

Why prayer before reciting Tehillim/ Psalms?:

Before we recite Tehillim / Psalms, it is for the benefit of the one engaging in praise to center their hearts and mind focus solely on the words they are preparing to recite. One is preparing themselves to remove the worries and cares of each day, and be solely in the presence of the Almighty, Blessed be He.

Therefore, we as an adoring bride and loyal subject to the Only Living G-d, Our King, our source, and among other beautiful aspects of our respect for our Father, the Creator of the Universe and everything therein; we aim to concentrate on Him and Him alone.

Before we begin the Study of the Tehillim / Psalms, reciting the Blessing/Prayer, we are fulfilling a mitzvah or sacred tradition on the merits of those Blessed Great Leaders who served HaShem with a joyful heart, and will, and might.; Blessing HaShem, of Glory and Truth’s beautiful Torah/Tanakh.

A Mitzvah is defined basically as:

  1. A commandment of the Jewish law.
  2. The fulfillment of such a commandment.
  3. A good, just, and / or worthy deed.

As I play the video during the Live or uploaded lessons, please try and focus on the words being recited and center oneself in the present moment. This can be difficult at first, but after some time and or many lessons, there is no doubt in my mind that we both achieve our accomplished goal, preparedness in the presence of HaShem.

Centering oneself may come easier to some than to others, be patient with oneself. It’s ok.

Just breathe.

Before each video lesson:

I want to do my utmost to ensure I am not leading others into improper practices. I want to ensure I repeat the Blessings before reciting the Psalms to HaShem, Our Merciful Father. We will play the after the Psalms Prayer at the completion of each video lesson.

Let Us Begin With Today’s Lesson!

1. Tehillim 16 Bible Study

(JPS)
A michtam of David.
Protect me, O God, for I seek refuge in You.
I say to the LORD,
“You are my Lord, my benefactor;
there is none above You.
As to the holy and mighty ones that are in the land,
my whole desire concerning them is that
those who espouse another [god]
may have many sorrows!
I will have no part of their bloody libations;
their names will not pass my lips.
The LORD is my allotted share and portion;
You control my fate.
Delightful country has fallen to my lot;
lovely indeed is my estate.
I bless the LORD who has guided me;
my conscience admonishes me at night.
I am ever mindful of the LORD’s presence;
He is at my right hand; I shall never be shaken.
So my heart rejoices,
my whole being exults,
and my body rests secure.
For You will not abandon me to Sheol,
or let Your faithful one see the Pit.
You will teach me the path of life.
In Your presence is perfect joy;
delights are ever in Your right hand.

I absolutely adore the beginning of this Tehillim14 : 1-4;

A michtam of David.
“Protect me, O God, for I seek refuge in You.
I say to the LORD,
“You are my Lord, my benefactor;
there is none above You.
As to the holy and mighty ones that are in the land,
my whole desire concerning them is that
those who espouse another [god]
may have many sorrows!
I will have no part of their bloody libations;
their names will not pass my lips.

The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: Thou maintainest my lot.

The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.”

JPS

As a child of G-d, servant of HaShem, and King appointed and anointed by the G-d of Israel, with the very oil used during the times of Moses, by Prophet Samuel, King David, is Praise(s) shvakheem recount (sfeer-ah ot khoz eret) G-d for His lineage in Torah, but also calling in the merits of the righteous of blessed memory of whom he honors for G-d's glory. Not worshiping those who came before him, but honoring their memory or service to G-d and His Torah.

In verse 7 of the JPS version of the translation it reads “

“I bless the LORD who has guided me;
my conscience admonishes me at night.”

Where as in the Koren Translation it reads:

“I bless the Lord, who gives me counsel: my reins also admonish me in the night seasons.”

Both in opinion are great translations of the word seeking adviceye·’a·tza·niיְעָצָ֑נִי from G-d.

The transliteration is

(Hebrew text)

7 a·va·rech et-ha·shem a·sher ye·’a·tza·ni; af-lei·lo·vt yis·se·ru·ni chil·yo·v·tai.

King David perhaps may have originally taken God’s guidance as advice or an opinion not to be heeded strictly, but more or of a perhaps. God later at night makes it known clearly, God was not giving a light guidance, but an actual command.

So what is the Jewish or Hebrew Terminology of this wondrous word?

I have typed in bold the advice word in both the Hebrew and Transliterated text, to hopefully make the process of understanding what form or type of advice is being requested or understood by King David. Kind David is asking G-d’s, opinion or point of view on certain matters of the heart. Matters that which G-d latter corrects King David’s waking conclusion, later in the night when King David’s mind and spirit is more opening to actually and truly understanding what The Holy Blessed one, wisdom that possibly misunderstood. Or perhaps, G-d was giving King David a greater insight into was previously communicated. What G-d communicated was not advice, but a command.

This bring us back to the recount or remembering of a previous Hebrew and Jewish Terminology Word of the Week:

Awake, Awaken, Awoke

Sooooooooooo…..

In receiving the clarification from G-d, King David feels most certain in His concrete revelation and is determined not to be swayed by any outside source, regardless of personal or emotional earthly consequences. Moving to the Koren Translation, because that so far is my favorite…. we read

shiv·vi·ti ha·shem le·neg·di ta·mid; ki mi·mi·ni bal-em·mo·vt.

I have set the Lord always before me: surely he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Tehillim Psalms 16 verse 8 Koren Translation

2 .I have said to the Lord, Thou art my Lord: I have no good apart from Thee;

lik·do·v·shim a·sher-ba·’a·retz hem·mah; ve·’ad·di·rei kol-chef·tzi-vam.

3. and to the saints that are on the earth, They are the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

4. Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names upon my lips.

ha·shem me·nat-chel·ki ve·cho·v·si; at·tah to·v·mich go·v·ra·li.

5. The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: Thou maintainest my lot.

cha·va·lim na·fe·lu-li ban·ne·’i·mim; af-na·cha·lat sha·fe·rah a·lai.

6. The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

a·va·rech et-ha·shem a·sher ye·’a·tza·ni; af-lei·lo·vt yis·se·ru·ni chil·yo·v·tai.

7. I bless the Lord, who gives me counsel: my reins also admonish me in the night seasons.

shiv·vi·ti ha·shem le·neg·di ta·mid; ki mi·mi·ni bal-em·mo·vt.

8. I have set the Lord always before me: surely he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

la·chen sa·mach lib·bi vai·ya·gel ke·vo·v·di; af-be·sa·ri yish·kon la·ve·tach.

9. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also dwells secure.

In staying true to G-d’s orders, King David is able to follow G-d’s precise instructions in order to carry out G-d’s will with more ease than the wicked are able to carry out their evil deeds, schemes, and coordinated plots.

ki lo-ta·’a·zov naf·shi lish·’o·vl; lo-tit·ten cha·si·de·cha lir·’o·vt sha·chat.

10. For Thou wilt not abandon my soul to She᾽ol; nor wilt Thou suffer thy holy one to see the pit.

תּֽוֹדִיעֵנִי֮ אֹ֤רַח חַ֫יִּ֥ים שֹׂ֣בַע שְׂ֭מָחוֹת אֶת־פָּנֶ֑יךָ נְעִמ֖וֹת בִּימִינְךָ֣ נֶֽצַח׃ {פ}

to·v·di·’e·ni o·rach chai·yim so·va ma·cho·vt et-pa·nei·cha; ne·’i·mo·vt bi·mi·ne·cha ne·tzach.

11. Thou wilt make known to me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.

Along the many missions or task assigned to King David, by Almighty G-d, is at anytime King David was ever filled with fear or too emish courage, King David would again seek the counsel from G-d. G-d would again or further explain to King David what or how King David was to proceed. This is perhaps there are many Psalms written as King David the author. King David was leaving a living record. Not soley a record of his successes and or failures, but offering us insight as to how we just as he did can establish and maintain open communication with G-d.

Omayn and Omayn.

When one acknowledges G-d as their complete source in all aspects of one’s life, they enter into a covenant with the Blessed Holy One.

FOR THOSE THAT ARE NEW TO THIS BIBLE STUDY.

Welcome, the following is a brief review of this Bible Study.

1. This BLOG post will have the resources and sources links for the Season 6 Bible Studies.

2. All Books used and Readings from during Live Bible Study can be found on Our Website: Marie Speaks GOD’s Grace. Live in the Bible Study Blogs portion of the website.

3. After Live Bible Studies have completed: I will upload to Rumble and Youtube, and post link in this BLOG. How we conduct Bible Studies here:

We believe in One and Only One G-D. HaShem; The G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.We do not and will not Pray in any others name or Praise any other, but HaShem.

Exodus chapter 20: 2-14.God spoke all these words, saying:I the LORD am your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, the house of bondage:You shall have no other gods besides Me.You shall not make for yourself a sculptured image, or any likeness of what is in the heavens above, or on the earth below, or in the waters under the earth.You shall not bow down to them or serve them. For I the LORD your God am an impassioned God, visiting the guilt of the parents upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generations of those who reject Me, but showing kindness to the thousandth generation of those who love Me and keep My commandments.

We believe G-D has called each of us to search matters out. (It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, And the glory of a king to plumb a matter.Like the heavens in their height, like the earth in its depth, Is the mind of kings—unfathomable. Proverbs 25:2 -3)

This is one reason why here at Marie Speaks G-D’s Grace Bible Study, we review several historical references and resources, of which we provide links and or screen shots for others to study at their leisure.We have been directed by G-D Wonderful and Almighty, to go Book by Book, Verse by Verse; sharing HIS Torah and Tanakh.We believe as directed by G-D Our Heavenly Father, learning and growing in Torah and Tanakh leads to understanding and wisdom; this shall only be achieved in reading, studying, and sharing HIS Word for ourselves; not relying on man.

Learning, growing, and studying with OUR L-D is to be done with others that are like minded, but more so during our personal time.

The BLOGs are written to assist those just beginning to study the BIBLE as a starting point. The Live or recorded Bible Studies are to cover and release opportunities and guidance, but ultimately is ones own personal responsibility to rule, govern, and be purposeful in their relationship with G-D.

Proverbs 22: 4 thru 6The effect of humility is fear of the LORD, Wealth, honor, and life.Thorns and snares are in the path of the crooked; He who values his life will keep far from them.Train a lad in the way he ought to go; He will not swerve from it even in old age.

Ezekiel 18: 20 thru 22The person who sins, he alone shall die. A child shall not share the burden of a parent’s guilt, nor shall a parent share the burden of a child’s guilt; the righteousness of the righteous shall be accounted to him alone, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be accounted to him alone.Moreover, if the wicked one repents of all the sins that he committed and keeps all My laws and does what is just and right, he shall live; he shall not die.None of the transgressions he committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness he has practiced, he shall live. Is it my desire that a wicked person shall die?—says the L-d G-D. It is rather that he shall turn back from his ways and live.

May HaShem, Blessed be He, continue to Bless us all and may we all be forever written in the Book of Life. O’Amein and O’AmeinA little about me: I love HaShem, TORAH, and Tanakh!!!!! I am not perfect!!!!

If we meet: We talking about Torah, drinking tea or coffee, and what books are out about HaShem! And maybe over some kosher pizza… maybe over some kosher steak…make over super sweet kosher cake ……. have a fun laugh about you guess it… Torah! Or on a bike, or  during a hike,  or while riding on a train in the rain as the rain falls nicely on the plain in Spain….., but either way…..We’ll be talking about TORAH!!!!

What is import to me:……..A relationship with Our Father  HaShem, Our Merciful Creator, Savior, and Wise King. Live in Torah, live with Family and community of Tribe.

My thoughts: We may not be perfect, but we study, we learn, we laugh, & we grow; we try try and have the courage to try again.

My goals: To learn, and grow, and share Love of Torah in HaShem with others who are willing or open to hearing. HaShem is my refuge, my strength, my confidant, and my true resting place.I have been using the minds.com account and Rumble (Live Bible Study video Post: Rumble  )as main accounts.

Lastly, NEVER LOSE FAITH, Hope, and have Courage!!!!Let’s continue to Fear and Love HaShem like a משיח and Pray.

PRAY FOR OUR NATION, enemies, fellows, and many lost Sons and Daughters of Torah to return to HaShem, Blessed be He, for ever and ever Amen.  HaShem is with me … I shall not be afraid!!!!!

Blessings and Prayers.

with Love truly,

Marie
