Let’s continue on..

What to expect this Bible Study Lesson?

We will continue to increase in our intro Hebrew vocabulary, with an intro to Hebrew terminology, coupled with a version of The Tanakh (the actual …. Jewish Bible.. that means no “new testament”) introduction, and will always rooted in Torah Spiritual Teaching.

The books, sources, and resources or references I will do my best to make sure are hyperlinked for others to review and study at their own leisure and for gaining in self-learning/teaching. The books, sources, and resources or references that we share here at mariespeaksgodsgrace.live, are not commonly found or promoted by the internet, therefore we do our best to provide the Torah filled information for others not to be led towards secular or pagan or idolatry propaganda lifestyles.

My goal is to help and assist others by studying Torah , researching Torah sages information and teachings, applying in life the lessons taught by our sages of Blessed memory and today, then learning and sharing/teaching what I have learned or experienced. This rounds out my personal experiences in any moment or season of life, thus forming a reality.

This reality is a living, yes living, energy frequency.

Physical And Spiritual

Able to raise higher and higher (G-d willing) and be adjusted as more experiences and new learning take place. These are my attempts at improving myself and hoping to leave the part of the world I have been placed, in better state than before (if needed) and the people I encounter (if possible). People and or places, I am so very blessed to encounter, G-d willing, will have a positive (frequency strong hold/ pillar of success for G-d’s Glory) experience of their own that will ultimately lead them to… you guessed it… G-d and His Holy Torah.

This Is Not Forced Or Coerced, Nor Manipulated.

With full acceptance of my own and others free will, (given to us by the Holy Creator), therefore at the end of the day one’s own education is determined by their efforts, intentions, and perseverance of truth.

Everyone has a responsibility to their own life, experiences, learning, and education (to name a few), in seeking and finding truth forming their reality.

TRUTH

I believe all truth comes from G-d and was given to us in His Holy Torah, and then lived out in the Tanakh. To be clear I believe all Truth comes from the G-d of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob and was given to us through His Prophet Moses to teach to the world and all those who love Him, know, Him and call Him by name and live by His Torah.

In order to understand, realize, and learn the truth, we should attempt, to the highest degree possible, to learn terminology, and then share this beauty with others who are open.

So What Is Terminology?

Terminology, as defined by Wikipedia, is:

Terminology is a group of specialized words and respective meanings in a particular field, and also the study of such terms and their use; the latter meaning is also known as terminology science.A term is a word, compound word, or multi-word expressions that in specific contexts is given specific meanings—these may deviate from the meanings the same words have in other contexts and in everyday language.

 Terminology is a discipline that studies, among other things, the development of such terms and their interrelationships within a specialized domain.

Terminology differs from lexicography, as it involves the study of concepts, conceptual systems and their labels (terms), whereas lexicography studies words and their meanings.

Terminology is a discipline that systematically studies the “labelling or designating of concepts” particular to one or more subject fields or domains of human activity. It does this through the research and analysis of terms in context for the purpose of documenting and promoting consistent usage.

Terminology can be limited to one or more languages (for example, “multilingual terminology” and “bilingual terminology”), or may have an interdisciplinarity focus on the use of terms in different fields.

Let’s get into…..

This week’s Hebrew and Jewish terminology words is: Family -messp|ah/ahot

Britannica.com defines family as: Family, a group of persons united by the ties of marriage, blood, or adoptionconstituting a single household and interacting with each other in their respective social positions, usually those of spouses, parentschildren, and siblings. The family group should be distinguished from a household, which may include boarders and roomers sharing a common residence. It should also be differentiated from a kindred (which also concerns blood lines), because a kindred may be divided into several households. Frequently the family is not differentiated from the marriage pair, but the essence of the family group is the parent-child relationship, which may be absent from many marriage pairs.

Of course I do not agree with the newly changed and updated definition of family. I believe in what HaShem the Blessed Holy One, intended family to be and I believe in accordances with the Laws of His Holy Torah with the guidance of the Blessed Sages of yesterday and today.

Therefore let’s take a look at what Jewishencyclopedia.com,

Importance of the Family.

The clan, “mishpaḥah” ; the tribe, “maṭṭeh” and “shebeṭ” ; and the nation, “‘am” , were considered as extensions of the family. In all these forms of development the underlying bond was the belief in a descent from a common ancestor, and the resulting kinship of all the persons constituting such a political division. The ties of blood were of absolute and undisputed strength. In the family is seen the patriarchal as distinct from the matriarchal system. The father is the head of the family, and through him the genealogy is traced. “The relationship on the father’s side is a hereditary one, but that on the mother’s side is not regarded as such “. This principle is based upon the section of the Mosaic law which provides that in case of a man dying without descendants and brothers, his father’s brothers or kinsmen are the legal heirs. Hence the mother’s father or brothers, or other kinsmen on the mother’s side, are excluded from inheritance.

The primitive family was a close corporation. This characteristic was retained to some extent down to the time of the Diaspora. The family determined right and wrong, made laws, administered justice, and maintained divine worship. This explains why among the ancient Hebrews the political state did not attain to the high development of Hellas and Rome. But the main reason for the solidarity of the family may be found in its religion. Not only is one born into a group of fellow citizens, but, as a matter of course, he embraces the gods of the family and of the state. These to the ancient mind were as much a part of the particular community as were the human members. Thus Yhwh appears to Jacob and tells him, “I am Yhwh, the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac” ; Rachel took with her the “teraphim” (images) of Laban, her father, and put them in “the camel’s furniture”; Joshua and the Prophets speak of Yhwh as the God of Israel, as their inheritance. In the days of Saul and David the tribes had long been united in the worship of Yhwh, and yet the clans maintained their annual sacra gentilicia, at which every member of the group was bound to be present. Aaron, the high priest, on the Day of Atonement brings sacrifices to atone for the sins of his house, of his tribe, and of the people . That the change of nationality involves a change of cult may be clearly seen from the Book of Ruth. “Thy sister in-law,” says Naomi to Ruth, “is gone back unto her people and unto her gods.” Ruth replies, “Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God”.

We have done a couple of classes on what Torah says about marriage and what is considered to be kosher kin behavior and kosher marriage.

We also did a class reviewing what is the correct definition of mamzer mis-commonly translated as bastard. Anyone who knows me, knows I can’t stand mis-quotes or improper uses of words, so I felt this class is quite important to this/ with study.

Kinship and Marriage.

In the earliest Hebrew history endogamy prevails; particular care is taken that Isaac and Jacob shall contract marriage only with their own kin. The Canaanite wives of Esau were “a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah” Some of the sons of Jacob also departed from this custom. Moses married outside his own people, but he was a fugitive, and became an adopted member of his wife’s tribe. It was, nevertheless, looked upon as right and fitting that marriage should take place within the circle of one’s own kindred.

However, the changed conditions subsequent to settlement in Canaan made an intermingling of races inevitable, and the custom of the kings in making foreign alliances by marriage favored this. The Deuteronomic law forbids marriage with the Canaanites, but, apparently, makes an exception to the endogamous rule in favor of the Edomites and Egyptians. The period of the Exile and the century following was also a period of laxity, but strict laws prohibiting marriage with the foreigner were enforced in the time of Ezra and Nehemiah.

The older custom of intermarriage within the circle of kinship was governed by no strict rules. Of course marriage with a daughter or uterine sister was not tolerated, but there was no bar to union with close relatives on the father’s side, and even down to the Babylonian exile such unions appear to have been common. Deuteronomy prohibits certain marriages with near relatives, but the most elaborate legislation in this direction is found in Leviticus. According to this law a man may not marry his mother, stepmother, mother-in-law, father’s sister, mother’s sister, paternal uncle’s wife, half-sister, stepsister (daughter of stepmother and her former husband), sister-in-law (brother’s wife), living wife’s sister, daughter-in-law, stepdaughter, granddaughter, or daughter of stepson or stepdaughter. It is clear that marriage with a deceased wife’s sister is not forbidden, but it has been argued that the near relatives of the wife equally with those of the husband are within the forbidden degree to him and that, as the wife’s mother and daughter are barred, so also, by analogy, is the wife’s sister. Whatever its anomalies or defects, there is no doubt that by this law a high ideal of domestic and social purity was maintained. The pre-Islamic Arabic custom, authorized by Mohammed, was closely similar. See Incest.

Not infrequently the Hebrew slave-girl became the wife or the concubine of her master. Instances are given of the wife voluntarily giving her maid to be wife to her husband. The lot of the childless wife in such a home was evidently an unhappy one. The law of later times was designed to limit the practise and to correct the abuses of polygamy. The king is enjoined not to multiply wives, “that his heart turn not away”. A man may not “take a woman to her sister to be a rival to her” . The interests of the less loved, or the hated, wife and her children are guarded . Even in the earliest legislation the slave-girl who is espoused by her master and the slave’s wife are protected in their rights .

How awesome is that!!!!!!
I love love love researching!!!!!!

I used 3 books to aide me in my research this lesson are from my personal home library:

I truly enjoyed studying and researching this week’s Jewish Terminology Word.

What lead me to research specifically this word?

Sporadically, I have read over the Book of Numbers or  בְּמִדְבַּר (Bemidbar), which means “In the Wilderness”; which would somehow always motivate me to want to look more into my own family history. In more recently times, I completed some DNA testing in order to help assist me finding out more and more of my family history. What I love about the Book of Numbers or  בְּמִדְבַּר (Bemidbar), is the listing of the families or “tribe” is Shevet (שֶׁבֶת) or Shevatim (שֶׁבְטִים) in plural. In addition, there are other words in Hebrew that can be translated to “tribe”, such as Mishenet (מִשְׁנֶת), Makel (מָקֵל), Sharvit (שַׁרְוִית), and Choter (חוֹתֶר), which all have different connotations and nuances.

In my observation, the fact that throughout the Torah and Tanakh tribes and families are recorded several times, is a clear indication that Our Blessed Holy One is telling us the importance of knowing from where one comes, but also to whom one belongs. I think also, the point that the Laws of marriage and food are listed one after another in the Torah is also a key indicator of the seriousness of the Laws. For example, an explanation is:

Covenant and Conversation; Leviticus; The Book of Holiness, Kedoshim, Being Holy 18

You can keep all the laws of kashrut, implies Nahmanides, and still be a glutton. You can drink only kosher wine and still be a drunkard….You can be faithful to the laws of marriage and still be a sensualist….He calls such a person a naval bireshut haTorah , meaning, one who is coarse, crude, self-indulgent, but who justifies his conduct by claiming, perhaps sincerely, that he is a strict observer of the law…Both believe that such people profoundly fail to understand the nature of Judaism.

Moving along with the study….

Soooooo I asked myself…….

-Does the Torah tell us the value of family? Yes. In fact the Torah gives explicit laws in detail of who one should marry, how we should treat our spouse, and the proper conduct of parents or family members to or with children.

-What are verses that we might not have covered yet that might better help in this lesson?

Genesis Bereshit ch 1 verses 27- 31

And the Almighty created the man in a mold made for him; to be a reflection of the Almighty He created him. Both male and female He created in the same mold which were separated afterward.
(רש”י.)

The Almighty blessed them, giving them their first command to build a home and to rear a family — saying: “Be fruitful and numerous, and replenish the earth, and subdue it. And — if you be worthy, you will have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heaven, and over every living thing that creeps upon the earth.”
(מס’ יבמות סד. וראה רש”י בפסוק כו.)

The Almighty said: “You are not permitted to kill any creature for food. Mark, I have given you every herb yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree which has in it the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it will be food for you.
(רש”י, א”ע, וראה רמב”ן.)

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the heaven, and to everything that creeps upon the earth (in which there is a living breath), I have given every green herb for food.” And it was so.

And the Almighty saw that everything He had made was working in harmony and unity, bearing witness to His unity, and He considered it very good. And there was evening and morning, the sixth day.
(עפ”י מלבי”ם, ראה הירץ.)

Bereshit Genesis ch 2 verses 1-3

And the heaven and the earth and all their fullness were perfected.
(אונקלוס.)

And on the seventh day, the Almighty crowned His work which He had made; and He desisted on the seventh day from all His creation which He had perfected.
(עפ”י תנחומא.)

And the Almighty blessed the seventh day by making it provide its observers with abundance for the whole week, and set it apart as a day of holiness to consecrate the spirit of man; because on it He desisted from all His work, which the Almighty had created with the power to reproduce itself in the future.
(עפ”י רמב”ן, א”ע.)

-Is there a point or situation in which one might have to remove themselves from family or it’s members? Yes. Genesis/ Bereshit ch 12 reads: *credit: Metsudah Chumash, Metsudah Publications, 2009

Lech Lecha

Adonoy said to Avram, Go from your land, from your birthplace, and from your father’s house, [and go] to the land that I will show you.
I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you and make your name great; and you will be a blessing [and you will be blessed].
I will bless those who bless you, and he who curses you, I will curse; and through you [and because of you], will be blessed all the families of the earth.
Avram went as Adonoy had told him, and Lot went with him. Avram was seventy-five years old when he left Charan.
Avram took his wife Sarai, Lot, his brother’s son, all their possessions they had acquired, and the souls [people] that they had made [converted] in Charan, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan. They came to the land of Canaan.
Avram passed [traveled] through the land until the place of Shechem, until the Plain of Moreh. The Canaanites were then in the land.
Adonoy appeared [became revealed] to Avram and said: To your descendants I will give this land. There he built an altar to [before] Adonoy Who had appeared [been revealed] to him.
From there he moved [ascended] to the mountain that was east of Beis-Eil and set up his tent. Beis-Eil was to the west and Ai was to the east. There he built an altar to [before] Adonoy, and he proclaimed the Name, [and he prayed in the Name,] Adonoy.

Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel said: There were no days as joyous for the Jewish people as the fifteenth of Av and as Yom Kippur, as on them the daughters of Jerusalem would go out in white clothes, which each woman borrowed from another. Why were they borrowed? They did this so as not to embarrass one who did not have her own white garments. All the garments that the women borrowed require immersion, as those who previously wore them might have been ritually impure. And the daughters of Jerusalem would go out and dance in the vineyards. And what would they say? Young man, please lift up your eyes and see what you choose for yourself for a wife. Do not set your eyes toward beauty, but set your eyes toward a good family, as the verse states: “Grace is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised” (Proverbs 31:30), and it further says: “Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates” (Proverbs 31:31). And similarly, it says in another verse: “Go forth, daughters of Zion, and gaze upon King Solomon, upon the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, and on the day of the gladness of his heart” (Song of Songs 3:11). This verse is explained as an allusion to special days: “On the day of his wedding”; this is the giving of the Torah through the second set of tablets on Yom Kippur. The name King Solomon in this context, which also means king of peace, is interpreted as a reference to God. “And on the day of the gladness of his heart”; this is the building of the Temple, may it be rebuilt speedily in our days.

What is the 15th of Av

The 15th of Av is a significant date in the Jewish calendar, known as Tu B’Av. It is a holiday that has been celebrated for centuries, and its origins date back to the Second Temple period. Here are some key events and traditions associated with this day:

  • Ancient matchmaking day: In the Second Temple period, Tu B’Av was a day when unmarried women would dress in white and go out to the fields to dance and attract potential suitors. This tradition was a way for women to increase their chances of finding a husband.
  • Grape harvest: Tu B’Av marks the beginning of the grape harvest, which ended on Yom Kippur. This connection to the harvest is reflected in the Talmud, which lists several joyous events that have taken place on this day.
  • Victory over the Sadducees: According to the Talmud, the Pharisees (rabbinic Jews) were victorious over the Sadducees on either the 14th or 15th of Av.
  • Intermarriage: The Talmud also lists the 15th of Av as a day when the different tribes were allowed to intermarry.
  • Festival of love: Tu B’Av is often referred to as the “Festival of Love” or the “Day of Love”. This is because it is a day of joy, celebration, and matchmaking.
  • Redemption: The 15th of Av is also seen as a day of redemption, as it is believed to be a time when God will bring about the redemption of the Jewish people.

In modern times, Tu B’Av has been revived as a celebration of love, relationships, and community. It is often celebrated with outdoor gatherings, music, and dancing.

In conclusion my dear friends and family, What I got from my experience coupled with this week Hebrew and Jewish Terminology Word of the week ….. Family -messp|ah/ahot

G-d, The Blessed Holy One intended us to have a Family -messp|ah/ahot, be a Family -messp|ah/ahot and live under His beautiful Holy Laws as a … you guess it Family -messp|ah/ahot.

An article by : Mises Wire explains why evil or, as I like to say, luciferian groups or people want to destroy the family unit:

Why Marxist Organizations Like BLM Seek to Dismantle the “Western Nuclear Family”

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

This idea isn’t unique to BLM, of course. “Disrupting” the “nuclear family” is a commonly stated goal among Maxist organizations. Given that BLM’s founders have specifically claimed to be “trained Marxists,” we should not be surprised that the organization’s leadership has embraced a Marxian view of the family.

But where does this hostility toward the family originate? Partly, it comes from the theories of Marx and Engels themselves, and their views that an earlier, matriarchal version of the family rejected private property as an organizing principle of society. It was only later that this older tribal model of the family gave way to the modern “patriarchal” family, which promotes and sustains private property.

Clearly, in the Marxian view, this “new” type of family must be opposed, since the destruction of this family model will make it easier to abolish private property as well.

Therefore how can we combat those that are evil in the war against Family -messp|ah/ahot?

I say…. we should return to HaShem, The Wonderful G-d of all Wisdom and Truth and learn what and how G-d and G-d only says about the matters of living, life, and Family -messp|ah/ahot. There is no doubt in my mind that through teshuva return to HaShem, of which all life has been created, endure, and made abundant; we will truly be able to conquer all they who…

they cause me grief in my affairs,-a
they plan only evil against me.

They plot, they lie in ambush;
they watch my every move, hoping for my death.
Cast them out for their evil;
subdue peoples in Your anger, O God.
You keep count of my wanderings;
put my tears into Your flask,
into Your record.-a
Then my enemies will retreat when I call on You;
this I know, that God is for me.
In God, whose word I praise,
in the LORD, whose word I praise,
in God I trust;
I am not afraid;
what can man do to me?

Tehillim Psalms 56 : 6-12

For it is written:

A base person, a wicked man, is one that walks with a crowed mouth,
that winks with his eyes, that taps with his feet, that points with his fingers;
perverseness is in his heart; he devises mischief continually; he sows discord.
Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
There are six things which the Lord hates, and seven which are an abomination to him:
a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked thoughts, feet that are swift in running to mischief,
a false witness that breathes out lies, and one that sows discord among brethren.
My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the Tora of thy mother:
bind them continually upon thy heart, and tie them about thy neck.
When thou walkest, it shall lead thee; when thou liest down, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.
For the commandment is a lamp; and Tora is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Proverbs 6: 12-23
